Compagnie DCA was born with Vague Café, which saw Philippe Decouflé stake out an initial foothold in the French dance scene, winning first prize at the Bagnolet Dance Competition organized by the French Ministry of Culture. A frenetic quartet endowed with elastic gestures whose movement, executed as if in a weightless world, suddenly breaking and collapsing. Just seven minutes of performance, already eons remote from the usual danceware performed at the time. A condensed work performed with conviction and commitment, Vague Café marks Decouflé's first public and critical success.
