JEUX OLYMPIQUES D'ALBERTVILLE

Sport and Art coming together to celebrate an historic moment: The Albertville Winter Olympics opened and closed to spectacular ceremonies, where youth and the purity of the sporting gestures were celebrated in grand style. With performances from elastic dancers, snow women, stiltwalkers and even a bird man, the dancers' bodies came to life on ice around the central mast, the center of gravity for the show. Combining fast forwards and slow speeds, in the air and on land, aerial ballet and group scenes in white and red. Ceremonies to distort and exacerbate the athletic movement. As if in a dream... Olympian in scale.
3,000 artists, professionals and local amateurs, directed by Philippe Decouflé and dressed by Philippe Guillotel, participated at these Albertville ceremonies, watched live by 35,000 spectators and a television audience of two billion.
