Marion Ballester trained at the CNDC Angers, from 1987 to 1989. She began her dancing career in 1989 with Dominique Petit before being engaged by Philippe Decouflé until 1992.
Between 1993 and 1998, she worked with the Compagnie Rosas – Anne Térésa de Keersmaeker as a performer. She then left to study for one year at Trisha Brown’s studio in New York. There, she developed her own choreographic research and founded her dance company, Cie Marion Ballester-Aoxoa.
Since her return in 1998, she has led a triple career as choreographer, performer and teacher.
From 2002 to 2006, she assisted Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker in producing the solo performance Once, and then danced with the Flemish choreographer. The German playwright and choreographer, Raimund Hogue, engaged her for his production entitled “Si je meurs Laissez le balcon ouvert” (‘If I die leave the balcony open’) in 2010, it would prove to be a decisive encounter. She would also perform together with the likes of Stéphanie Aubin, Philippe Saire, Nicole Mossoux…
She was collaborating with Mathilde Monnier on the 2012 production. At the same time, Marion Ballester continues to expand her teaching activities with different audiences.
